Hiking around Bejar following the footsteps of the sephardic jews
26 March, 2017 - 9:30 am a 2:30 pm| 5€
The second edition of trekking route La Salamanquesa will cross the road between Béjar and La Calzada on 26th March. The hiking, organized by the Jewish Museum David Melul and the Town Hall of Béjar, will travel the first kilometers of the route that the jews from Bejar used in the spring and summer of 1492, leaving the kingdom of Castile. The date of the expulsion edict, published on March 31th of that year, determines the moment chosen by the museum to recall its exile, which in the case of the jews of the aljamas de Bejar and Hervas was most likely done through the portuguese border.
Distance: 14 kilometers.
Price: 5 €.
